Meet the coaches

tammy whyte

After 12 years of working in the education field and 2 years of coaching with a local running store, Tammy decided to follow her true passion of coaching and fitness in 2017, which is when TW Training was born. She always thought that run coaching [and often times casual running groups] were a bit unaccessible for runners who didn’t consider themselves “fast” which is why TW Training specializes in supporting non-elite runners, especially those newer to long distance racing and who consider themselves mid-back of the pack runners.

Tammy is originally from Grand Rapids, MI, and a proud alum of the University of Michigan, where she received her B.S. in Movement Science. She’s completed 15 marathons, over 60 half marathons, and is running a half or full marathon in every state [with 33 completed so far]. She’s a certified run coach through RRCA, as well as a certified personal trainer [NASM] and functional strength coach [CFSC], and she’s helped hundreds of runners reach their big goals in the 8 years she’s been coaching.

Tammy currently resides in Chicago, IL, and can usually be found at a donut shop on Fridays.

COACHING AVAILABILITY: Tammy currently has a waitlist and will likely have a few spots opening for a May start date for new athletes. If you’ve worked 1:1 with Tammy in the past, reach out via email, as she always saves a few spots for former athletes.

mike moreau

A Chicago native, Mike has a plethora of both racing and coaching experience. He’s raced distances from the 1 mile to the marathon and has 14 marathons under his belt. He started his running journey when a friend asked him to run a half marathon for their 25th birthdays and he hasn’t stopped. The growth from his first marathon to his most recent is huge, and it’s helped him learn life is not linear and running isn’t either. He brings this approach to coaching his athletes, as well - valuing patience in the journey, and he loves seeing the growth in his athletes over time. Mike has coached at a local Chicago area high school for 10 years and also coaches with Fleet Feet Chicago, and he’s looking forward to coaching more athletes in Chicago and beyond!

COACHING AVAILABILITY: Mike currently has spots open on his roster for new athletes.

florie lewine

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Florie has lived on the east coast for most of her adult life and loves calling Washington, DC home. She picked up distance running only after college, starting with a very limited athletic background. But, by building up a solid and supportive running community, investing in coaching, and nurturing her self confidence, Florie found her race times start to dramatically improve. With more than ten marathons completed, as well as regular trail runs, ultras, relays and road races under her belt, Florie’s developed a lifelong love of running and is a true believer in the limitless growth opportunities runners are capable of no matter where they start from. Florie hopes to utilize coaching to pass forward the knowledge, experience, and joy of running she’s learned.

COACHING AVAILABILITY: Florie currently has spots open on her roster for new athletes.
