TW Training Marathon Training Runs

Are you training for Marine Corps Marathon or another fall race? Join the TW Training Summer Group Program for a long run to get in your miles and meet other runners! These long runs are usually only for members of the TW Group Training Program (for which you can still join), but we're opening up 3 of them for anyone to join in the fun!

RSVP for one or all of them and Coach Tammy will follow up with the routes and more details in the week before the run. We look forward to seeing you there!

Long run details:

  • Saturday, July 20 @ 6:30am - meets at the Dupont Circle fountain. Distance options from 6-12 miles

  • Saturday, August 10 @ 6am - meets in the parking lot of Teddy Roosevelt Island. Distance options from 10-16 miles. A supported aid station will be set up mid-run.

  • Saturday, September 21 @ 6am - meets in the parking lot of Teddy Roosevelt Island. Distance options from 14-20 miles. A supported aid station will be set up mid-run.

TW Training Fun Run + HH with Ivy and Coney

Let's celebrate Global Running Day (June 5th) with a few miles + happy hour + building community! Join local running coach Tammy Whyte with TW Training and Wellness for a 3 mile fun run + happy hour at Ivy and Coney on Thursday, June 6th. The run will start shortly after 6:30pm, so plan to arrive a few minutes early to get signed in and ready to run. We'll run about 3 miles at a casual pace and all levels are welcome (no one will be left behind)! After the run we'll enjoy extended happy hour deals and continue the good conversation :)

There is street parking nearby if you're driving, and it's a few blocks south of the Shaw metro (R street exit). Ivy and Coney has a small space to store belongings if you are coming directly from work. Note that Ivy and Coney is CASH ONLY, so either bring along cash or your debit card to use at the ATM in the bar.

TW Training Fun Run + Healthy HH with South Block Ballston

TW Training fun runs are making their way to Virginia! Join local running coach Tammy Whyte of TW Training and Wellness and South Block Ballston for a 3 mile fun run + a healthy happy hour afterwards. The run will start and end at South Block Ballston and participants will receive $2 off a smoothie or acai bowl after the run.

Strength for Runners with Pacers Alexandria

Join Pacers Alexandria for their weekly Thursday fun run, followed by a 15 minute strength for runners session with Coach Tammy, a certified running coach and personal trainer. The strength routine will focus on moves that support glute and core strength for runners, to help mitigate the risk of injury. All levels of runners are welcome!

TW Training Fun Run + Strength with New Balance

Strength is an important part of any workout routine, but it's especially important for runners to maintain a strong core and glutes to promote stronger running and help minimize the risk for injury. Join local running coach and personal trainer Tammy Whyte of TW Training and Wellness for a 3 mile fun run + 15 minute strength session at New Balance DC.  Light snacks and refreshments will be provided after the strength workout. New Balance will also give 20% off in-store purchases to anyone who attends, so you can treat yourself to some new shoes or apparel as you get ready for summer running.

The run will start and end at New Balance DC. There is a safe place to store your belongings while you're running. There is some street parking available, along with parking garages nearby. The Friendship Heights metro is a block away. The run will start shortly after 6:45pm, so please try to arrive a few minutes early to sign in and stash your belongings. All running levels are welcome - no one will be left behind! :)

TW Training Fun Run + Sips with Core72

The TW Training fun runs are back, and we'll be kicking them off with another woman-owned business, Core72. Local running coach Tammy Whyte of TW Training and Wellness will be leading a 3 mile fun run, with light snacks and refreshments to follow at the store. Core72 will also give 20% off in-store purchases to anyone who attends, so you can treat yourself to something new for your summer running wardrobe as you sip on wine and meet other runners in the community.

The run will start and end at Core72 (Cathedral Commons location). There is a safe place to store your belongings while you're running. There is some street parking available, along with a parking garage. Cleveland Park is the closest metro stop and there are several bus stops close by. The run will start shortly after 6:30pm, so please try to arrive a few minutes early to sign in and stash your belongings. All running levels are welcome - no one will be left behind! :)
