Half Marathon Training Program

Let’s get ready to crush those fall races! Whether this is your first half marathon or 10 Miler and your primary goal is to cross that finish line or you’ve done several longer races and you are looking to PR, the Half Marathon Training Program will help you achieve those goals with a supportive coach and a welcoming group of fellow runners. This program includes the Tuesday Intervals + Core and the Thursday Tempo Run. The Saturday Long Run can also be added to this program. More information about the weekly runs can be found here.

This program is geared at 3 fall races: Navy-Air Force Half Marathon (9/16), Army 10 Miler (10/7), Richmond Half Marathon (11/10), however, anyone running a fall half marathon or 10 mile race (such as Parks, Baltimore, Woodrow Wilson Bridge, Philly) is welcome to join and training plans will be adjusted as needed. *This option can also be selected for anyone running a full marathon if the Saturday long runs do not work with your schedule/you have a long run crew already.

Dates of Program: July 9 - November 10 (18 weeks)

Program Includes:

  • Training plan (beginner and intermediate/advanced plan available for each race)

  • Guidance on building your base mileage until training program officially starts

  • Weekly Tuesday Intervals + Core workouts (meets at Cardozo at 6:30pm)

  • Weekly Thursday Tempo Run (meets @ Pacers 14th St at 6:30pm)

  • Weekly emails with coaching tips and motivation

  • Monthly workshops on topics such as injury prevention, foam rolling, and race fueling

  • Pace and form recommendations

  • Online library of strength videos

  • Facebook group to interact outside of runs

  • Special shopping nights at Pacers with an in-store discount

  • Discounts from other local businesses, such as Composition ID and Capitol Cryo

  • A welcoming community to train with, as well as personal attention from a coach during practices

  • Race day meet-up with Coach Tammy (at Navy-Air Force and Richmond)

  • Training shirt

  • Social events

Cost: $325/program (less than $75/month)

  • Add on the Saturday Long Run for an additional $75 ($400 total) - be sure to choose the "ADD ON" option at checkout
