Marathon Summer Training Program

Let’s get ready to crush those fall marathons! Whether this is your first marathon and your primary goal is to cross that finish line or you’ve done several marathons and you are looking to PR, the Marathon Training Program will help you achieve those goals with a supportive coach and a welcoming group of fellow runners. The tempo run and long run are the most important workouts in a marathon training plan, so we’ll meet on Thursdays and Saturdays to push and encourage each other through those miles. Tuesday Intervals + Core can also be added to this program. More information about each run can be found here

This program is targeted at 3 marathons: Chicago (10/7), Marine Corps (10/28), and Richmond (11/10), however, anyone running a fall marathon (such as Baltimore, NYC, Philly) is welcome to join and training plans will be adjusted as needed.

Dates of Program: June 25 - November 10 (20 weeks)

Program Includes:

  • Training plan (beginner and intermediate/advanced plan available for each target race)

  • Guidance on building your base mileage until training program officially starts

  • Weekly Thursday Tempo Run (meets @ Pacers 14th St at 6:30pm)

  • Weekly Saturday Long Run (meets @ Dupont Circle at 6:30am)

  • Weekly emails with coaching tips and motivation

  • Monthly workshops on topics such as injury prevention, foam rolling, and race fueling

  • Pace and form recommendations

  • Strength training video library

  • A welcoming community to train with, as well as personal attention from a coach during practices

  • Facebook group to interact outside of runs

  • Special shopping nights at Pacers with an in-store discount

  • Discounts from other local businesses, such as Composition ID and Capitol Cryo

  • Race day meet-up with Coach Tammy (at all 3 target races)

  • Training shirt

  • Social events

Cost: $350/program (less than $75/month)

  • Add on Tuesday Intervals + Core for an additional $75 ($425 total) - be sure to choose the "ADD ON" option at checkout
