If you are training for a different race than the ones listed below, average time for marathon training is 16 weeks, half marathon training is 12 weeks, 10 Miler training is 10-12 weeks, and 10K training is 8 weeks. Work backwards from the race to determine your official starting date or feel free to reach out to Tammy for guidance.

Cherry Blossom 10 Miler (Race Date: 4/7/19) — 1/14/19 (Lottery open 12/1 - 12/12)

St. Pat’s 10K (Race Date: 3/17/19) — 1/21/19

GW Parkway Classic 10 Miler (Race Date: 4/28/19) — 2/4/19 (TW Training athletes get a special discount for this race)

New Jersey Half Marathon (Race Date: 4/28/19) — 2/4/19

National Women’s Half Marathon (Race Date: 5/5/19) — 2/11/19

Marine Corps Historic Half (Race Date: 5/19/19) — 2/25/19

Wayfarer’s Half Marathon (Race Date: 6/1/19) — 3/11/19

*Officially starting training means speed workouts and a progressive building of mileage begins. It’s highly encouraged that a base mileage of at least 15-20 miles/week is maintained before marathon training (10-15 miles/week for 10 mile or half marathon training).
