There are 3 ways to be coached by TW Training and Wellness: the TW Group Training Program, TW Track Practices, and Individual Coaching. Check them out below to learn more. If you have questions, first check out the FAQ and then feel free to reach out to Tammy with further questions!
TW Group Training Program (DC/VA area only)
The TW Group Training Program is for runners training for a specific long distance race (from the 10 mile to the marathon). Participants in the Group Program are typically runners who are newer to long distance racing - running their first marathon or have done a couple longer races and want to PR, for example - and/or classify themselves as mid-to-back of the pack runners. This option includes a training plan, weekly coached track practices + a supported long run each week, strength training routines, and ongoing support from coaches and the team to reach your goals. Registration for the 2019 summer session is closed, but there are several upcoming open runs to meet the coaches and join the fun!
TW Track Practices (DC/VA area only)
TW Track Practices are for runners who want to incorporate speed work into their training but aren’t sure how to do so and/or need the accountability of a coach and team to actually do it. Workouts are differentiated for all levels of runners, so everyone gets something that meets their needs, whether they are training for a goal race or simply want to be a faster recreational runner. There are 3 track locations for the summer session: Cardozo SHS (U Street area), Wilson SHS (Tenleytown), and Washington and Lee (Ballston). Registration is still open for the fall!
Individual Coaching (Online)
Individual coaching is for any level of runner who wants to work toward a specific running goal - achieving a new PR in an upcoming race, running a longer distance race for the first time, building speed and/or endurance, and coming back from injury safely are some common reasons runners work with Tammy. Individual coaching is done virtually through an online training platform and regular communication (email, text, phone calls), so you can live anywhere to select this option. A phone consultation is done before signing up to ensure it’s a good fit for both parties. A limited number of spots are currently open for online coaching.
